All-In: Betting your entire chip stack.

Bad Beat: To have a heavily favored poker hand beaten by a large underdog. It is generally used to imply that the winner of the pot should not have been in the pot at all, and it was the wildest of luck that he managed to catch the very few cards in the deck that would win the pot.

Blind (Small Blind/big blind): Forced bets that take the place of an ante in Texas Holdem. The person to the left of the dealer must pay the Small Blind and the person after him must pay the Big Blind.

Call: To put in to the pot the minimum amount of money necessary to continue playing

Dealer Button: Used to mark the player that is the Dealer.

Flop: This is when the first three cards come out in Texas Holdem.

Fold: Decline to call a bet, thus dropping out of a hand.

Pot: The money or chips in the center the poker table that players try to win.

Pot Odds: The amount of money in the pot divided by the amount of money you need to put in in order to call.

River: This is the fifth and final card that comes on the board in Texas Holdem, after the turn.

Short-Handed: The situation where there are six or less players at the poker table, making it necessary to give more action than you would in a full-ring Texas Holdem game and forcing you to play more hands in order to win.

Tilt: To play recklessly, due to losing a large hand you thought favored to win.

Turn: This is the fourth board card that comes out in Texas Holdem, the card after the flop.
